Best Burgers in New York City

A really good burger in New York City is not hard to come by-  whether they are budget-friendly or expensive and indulgent, we love to eat them. Below is a list of some classic city staples.

J.G. Melon

This Upper East Side staple has been around since 1972. They don't take reservations & are cash only. The burgers are super fresh & juicy and are paired with cottage fries that you can't pass up.

Red Hook Tavern

If you find yourself across the river, Red Hook Tavern is the SPOT to be. From the team behind Hometown Bar-B-Que, this neighborhood joint should definitely be on your list. The burgers come served as a thick patty, melted with cheese and raw onions. It comes with a sesame bun and fries.

Gramercy Tavern

If you are looking for something more upscale, Gramercy Tavern is the place. I absolutely love the decor and ambiance and everything on the menu is delicious. The burger comes served with cheddar, bacon & chips.

Peter Lugar Steakhouse

If you are looking for more of a steakhouse vibe, Peter Lugar is the spot. It also is the inspiration for the Red Hook Tavern burger. Peter Lugar is an iconic city staple. Heads up, it is located in Williamsburg!

Minetta Tavern

Minetta Tavern is another favorite. You just can't go wrong. The vibe in here is very old New York, with dim lighting, walls filled with picture frames, an original tin ceiling, white table cloths and checkered floors. There are two options for burgers, The Minetta Burger which has cheddar, caramelized onions & fries, or the Black Label Burger which is a selection of prime dry aged beef cuts and caramelized onions. Can't go wrong either way. Some people have a strong preference on this.
